Missoula MPO
The Missoula Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is responsible for regional transportation planning that aims to create a safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation network for the Missoula area. This planning ensures reliable access to essential services like employment, education, healthcare, and recreation, while supporting social, economic, and environmental well-being. The MPO collaborates with state, local agencies, and the public to develop comprehensive plans that promote multimodal transportation options and meet federal requirements. Established in 1982, the MPO’s efforts are guided by the Transportation Policy Coordinating Committee (TPCC) to address current and future transportation needs in the region.
